खेती में सिंचाई का बहुत महत्वपूर्ण स्थान होता है फसल को उगाने के लिए पानी की आवश्यकता होती है। भारत के ज्यादातर किसान पुराने तरीके से खेती करते हैं जिसमें पानी की खपत ज्यादा होती है और जमीन से पानी निकालने के लिए अक्सर वह डीजल से चलने वाले मोटर का इस्तेमाल करते हैं या फिर बिजली से चलने वाले मोटर का इस्तेमाल करते हैं। जिससे उनकी लागत में भी काफी बढ़ोतरी हो जाती है। आज के समय में सौर ऊर्जा से चलने वाले इरिगेशन सिस्टम विशेष सिंचाई प्रणाली कहते हैं किसानों के लिए बहुत ही उपयोगी होता है इससे न सिर्फ पानी की बचत होती है बल्कि बिजली की भी बचत होती है जिससे उनकी लागत कम होती है और यह खेती के लिए आज के दौर में वरदान साबित हो रही है। सौर ऊर्जा से चलने वाला इरिगेशन सिस्टम क्या है सौर ऊर्जा से चलने वाले इरिगेशन सिस्टम एक ऐसी सिंचाई प्रणाली है जिसके जरिए कल नदी या फिर जमीन से निकलने वाले पानी को फसलों तक पहुंचाया जाता है इस सिस्टम में अलग-अलग तरह के तकनीक का इस्तेमालकिया जाता है। उनमें से तीन महत्वपूर्ण तकनीक होती है ड्रिप इरीगेशन, स्प्रिंकल सिस्टम और सीधे पौधे तक पानी पहुंचाना सौर ऊर्जा से चलने वाले इरिगेशन सिस्टम के लाभ बिजली पर होने वाले खर्च में बचत इसका सबसे बड़ा फायदा यह होता है कि बिजली की खपत बहुत ही कम हो जाती है। अगर किसान पुराने तरीके से मोटर पंप का इस्तेमाल करके खेतों में सिंचाई करते हैं तो बिजली की खपत ज्यादा होती है। क्योंकि यह सिस्टम जरूरत के अनुसार ही पानी का इस्तेमाल करता है। जिससे बिजली के बिल में काफी कटौती होती है किसान बचे हुए पैसों का इस्तेमाल खेती में लगने वाले अन्य समान पर कर सकते हैं। पर्यावरण को लाभ पहुंचता है सौर ऊर्जा से चलने वाले सिंचाई सिस्टम पर्यावरण को कई तरह की लाभ पहुंचाते हैं कार्बन मे कमी: सौर ऊर्जा से चलने वाले इरिगेशन सिस्टम किसी भी प्रकार का कार्बन पैदा नहीं करता है। किसी और की तरह की बिजली का इस्तेमाल करते हैं तो उनको बनाने में कहीं ना कहीं पेट्रोल डीजल और कोयले का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है जो कि हमारे पर्यावरण को काफी नुकसान पहुंचता है जिससे जलवायु परिवर्तन होता है और जलवायु परिवर्तन अक्सर किसानों के लिए नुकसानदायक होता है। पानी बचाने में मदद: इरिगेशन सिस्टम को ऐसे डिजाइन किया जाता है जिससे कि पानी की बचत होती है यह एक-एक बूंद पानी का हिसाब रखता है यह पानी सिर्फ पौधों तक पहुंचना है उसके अलावा पानी की बर्बादी को रोकता है कीटनाशक और रसायन मे कमी: इस सिस्टम की मदद से कीटनाशक और रसायनों का इस्तेमाल में भारी कमी आती है क्योंकि जब इस सिस्टम के द्वारा पानी सिर्फ फसलों तक पहुंचाया जाता है तो जमीन के बाकी हिस्सों को पानी नहीं मिलता है जिसके कारण खरपतवार और अन्य तरह के जंगली पौधे नहीं हो पाते हैं। खरपतवार और अन्य पौधों को खत्म करने के लिए किस अक्सर रसायन का इस्तेमाल करते हैं। जब रसायन का इस्तेमाल खेतों में काम होता है तो इससे कई तरह के लाभ होते हैं एक तो लागत में कमी होती है और दूसरा रसायन अक्सर धरती पर मौजूद किसी तत्व से बने होते हैं उसके इस्तेमाल में भी कमी होती है। रखरखाव बहुत ही आसान और रखरखाव
