What is the PM Internship Scheme 2025?

During the announcement of the Union Budget 2025, the honorable Prime Minister announced the PM Internship Scheme 2025. The goal of this program is to give young Indians access to at least 1.25 lakh internship opportunities in over 500 prestigious companies. All the youngsters within the age group of 21-24 years can apply for this internship scheme. The duration of the Internship will be 12 months, which doesn’t require any registration or application fees. The internship programme targets 24 public sectors, including the oil, gas, energy, hospitality, automotive industry, banking, and various financial services. 

It is a significant step towards creating a skilled, empowered, and knowledgeable workforce that contributes effectively to the nation’s progress. The registration process of internship scheme on the official pminternship.mca.gov.in, PM Internship Scheme 2025 registration website is given below:

1. Visit pminternship.mca.gov.in, the PM internship scheme’s official website.

2. After that, click on the “Youth Registration” option available on the homepage. 

3. A pop-up box then shows up on your screen. Enter your mobile number in the given box. Then click on the “Submit” button. 

4. An OTP will then be sent to the registered mobile number. Enter that OTP in the required space and then click on the “Submit” button. 

5. You now need to change your account’s password. To make a new password, re-enter your old password in the given space for confirmation. Now, click on the “Submit” button. 

6. Your online registration will be finished once your password has been changed. You can now easily log in to the website and then apply to the internship of your choice.  

5. Click “Submit” once the information has been entered.

6. Once you click the submit button, you become a registered candidate on the PM internship website. Now, you can have access to apply to the different internships on the website.

1. The first step is to go on pminternship.mca.gov.in website, the internship program’s official website.

2. Once you visit the website, search for the login button. Then click on it. 

3. After that, a new window appears on your screen demanding your username and password. 

4. If you are new to the website, then create your username and password. 

PM Internship Scheme 2025 Apply Online

1. Take a look at the PM Internship Scheme’s official webpage.

2. After going to the official website, enter your username and password to access the website. After that, click on the ‘My Current Status Tab’. 

3. In the My Current Status Tab, complete your profile by filling in the required information, like the eKYC process, contact info, personal details, educational background, and bank details, etc.

4. After completing your profile, go to the ‘Internship Opportunity’ tab. You’ll see a list of internships. Use filters to find what suits you and apply for up to 3 options.
5. Click ‘View’ to check the full details of any internship.
6. If it matches your interest, hit the ‘Apply’ button.
7. A pop-up will ask for confirmation. Click ‘Ok’ to continue.
8. You’ll be asked 3 short questions. Type in your answers and click ‘Apply’.
9. Read the declaration and consent form, tick all checkboxes (mandatory), and click ‘Submit’.
10. Your application goes to the companies, which will review and shortlist candidates.
11. If shortlisted, you may get an online interview or test.

What are the Eligibility Criteria for the Scheme?

Before applying to the PM Internship Scheme 2025, students need to fulfill the eligibility criteria, which are mentioned above: 

• The candidate needs to be a permanent resident of India.

• The candidate must be between 21 to 24 years old.

• The age relaxation criteria are available for the OBC (NCL) for 3 years, and for the SC & ST for 5 years. 

• Candidates who are enrolled in the online or distance learning programmes can apply to this scheme. But those who are full-time employees are ineligible for the scheme. 

• Candidates must have the relevant educational certificates from their respective schools and colleges.  

Ineligibility Criteria for the Internship Scheme:

• Those candidates are not eligible for the scheme who are between the ages of 21 to 24 years. 

• If you are a full-time employee or a student, then you are also ineligible for the scheme. 

• If the applicant has graduated from an institution, such as the National Law Institution, IISER, NID, IIIT, or IIT, then they are also not eligible. 

• You possess professional certifications like CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, and BDS, or advanced degrees like an MBA or PhD.

• If the candidate is participating in any government skill development programme, apprenticeship, or any other training programme, then they are not eligible. 

• If an individual has completed their apprenticeship under NAPS or NATS. 

• If the family income of the candidate exceeds Rs 8 lakhs in the financial year 2023-2024, then the candidate is ineligible to apply to this scheme.

• If you and your family are doing a full-time job in any government office, then an individual is ineligible.
